Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-11-01
These terms apply to your use of CalScope, made by appdevgpt ("we"). By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What the app does
CalScope helps you track food, exercise and weight. Calorie and nutrition values from photos, barcodes and labels are estimates made by AI or taken from public databases. They can be wrong; check and correct them when it matters.
Not medical advice
CalScope does not provide medical, nutritional or health advice and does not diagnose or treat any condition. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before changing your diet or exercise, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, or have a history of disordered eating.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU and UK) to use the app.
Free use and limits
Free users can make up to 5 AI scans a day. Barcode lookups don't count toward this limit. We may change limits and features, and will try to give notice of significant changes.
Subscriptions
- Paid features, when offered, are sold as subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play and charged to that account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
- If a free trial is offered, it turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless cancelled before then.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and text you add. You allow us to process them, through our service providers, only to provide the app's features to you.
Acceptable use
- Don't misuse the app or its servers, for example by automating requests or getting around usage limits.
- Don't upload content that is illegal or that you don't have the right to share.
- Don't copy, modify or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it.
Third-party data
Product data for barcodes comes from Open Food Facts, made available under the Open Database License. We don't guarantee its accuracy.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on estimates from the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
Ending use
You can stop using the app and delete it at any time. We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms.
App store terms
If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's Standard License Agreement (EULA) also applies. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its support.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and tell you in the app when a change is significant. Continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms.
